About

Clomid is an anti-estrogen compound created for women with fertility issues. However, many men (particularly anabolic steroid users) use it as a PCT to treat low testosterone levels. Clomid has been found to be particularly helpful in treating water retention and gynecomastia caused by hormonal imbalances created from anabolic steroid use.

Mechanism of Action

Infertility in women: Clomid binds to the receptors in the brain that would typically bind with estrogen. As a result your brain thinks estrogen levels are low and produces more FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone), which can boost estrogen.

As a PCT for men, clomid blocks the estrogen receptors in the pituitary gland which prevents the interaction of the female sex hormone with the pituitary gland. If this interaction occurs it reduces the production of luteinizing hormone and follicle stimulating hormone. Both these hormones signal the body to produce testosterone. This process of reducing estrogen and increasing testosterone helps the body recover from hormonal imbalances

Side Effects

  • may decrease bone density

  • may cause abdominal pain
